Seniors : Salanque côte radieuse-FCV résultats

Dimanche 5 février 2017, les seniors se rendaient en terre catalane afin d’y affronter l’entente Salanque côte radieuse.

Finalement, c’est sur le terrain annexe extrêmement venté du complexe sportif de Canet-en-Roussillon (alors que les rencontres étaient annoncées à Toreilles) que l’équipe B affrontait un prétendant aux phases finales (4ème avant le coup d’envoi) et accessoirement finaliste la saison dernière. Le capitaine Saffon toujours hors-service assistait impuissant à la victoire des locaux sur le score de 24-8 (essai de Thomas Morel en fin de partie). A  noter l’apport intéressant des joueurs Belascain qui ont abordé le match sans complexes et ont su tirer leur épingle du jeu.

L’équipe 1, elle-aussi, devait affronter un vent latéral puissance 10 sur l’échelle de Beaufort pour sa rencontre. Le premier acte voyait nos joueurs prendre les choses en main notamment par l’entremise du canonnier Pissinis qui alternait bien entre le jeu à la main et le jeu au pied. Suite à une mêlée à cinq mètres et un départ du n°8 Mignonat, Alabert pointait en coin et permettait aux Lauragais de mener logiquement sur le score de 7-16 aux citrons. Malheureusement,  de trop nombreuses fautes concédées par nos joueurs, qui se sont traduits par quatre cartons lors de la seconde mi-temps, n’ont pas permis de repartir de La Salanque avec la victoire (score final 16-16). Après la déception de la semaine dernière à Prades, ce sont tout de même deux points de gagnés dans la course à la qualification qui s’annonce acharnée. A noter que le volumineux Henry Tuilagui (1.85m 127 kilos du temps de sa splendeur sous le maillot de l’USAP plus proche des 140 kilos actuellement…) a été bien maîtrisé tout au long de la partie.

Après ce bloc de quatre matchs et un bilan d’une victoire, un match nul et deux défaites (un point de bonus défensif), nos joueurs ont bien mérité une semaine de pause. Rendez-vous désormais le dimanche 19 février 2017 au Parc municipal des sports de Villefranche pour la réception de Mazamet.
